20th Pandanet Cup Internet World Amateur Go Tournament

Tournament Outline
A Main Class and Ranked Classes (A-D classes) will be held. All the participants in each class will compete in the preliminary round; players who win their way through the preliminaries will compete in a round to choose regional representatives, followed by the finals. Eight players (Asia & Oceania 4, Europe & Africa 2, North, Central & South America 2) will compete in the Main Class and four players in each of the Ranked Classes (Asia & Oceania 2, Europe & Africa 1, North, Central & South America 1).

< Class >
There are five categories. One is the Main Class and the others are Ranked Classes.
• Main Class (You can participate in the Main Class regardless of your Go strength.)
• A Class (1d – 5d)
• B Class (1k – 5k)
• C Class (6k – 10k)
• D Class (11k –)
*If you are 6d or above, your class will be Main Class automatically.
*People who hope to participate in A~D Class and have not been confirmed of their rank by Pandanet, need to play at least 20 games and be confirmed of their rank by December 14. If a question mark appears next to the rank, it means the rank has not been officially confirmed by Pandanet.
* Participants will play with the rating as of December 15. (6AM, Japan time)Your class will be decided depending on the rating.
< Playing Rules >
Time allowanceThe time allowance is 10 minutes per side, with overtime of 25 moves every 15minutes
Playing ConditionsAll games are played even, with Black giving a komi of 6.5 points
ColorColors are determined by the system automatically
< Preliminary Rounds >
• Participants play freely at least six games in their Class room during the Preliminary Rounds. Participants are not allowed to play with the same person twice.
• Places will be decided by the following method of calculation. In the Main Class, 32 players (Asia & Oceania 16, Europe & Africa 8, North, Central & South America 8) will win their way through the preliminary rounds, and in the Ranked Classes 16 players (Asia & Oceania 8, Europe & Africa 4, North, Central & South America 4) will do so.

The ranking is determined by points in descending order.
1. Points = W / N + W x 0.02 (W = number of wins, N = number of games played)
Example: you win 3 out of 6 games, you collect 3/6 + 3 * 0.02 = 0.56 points.
Example: you win 4 out of 8 games, you collect 4/8 + 4 * 0.02 = 0.58 points.
2. With tied points, player with higher number of wins is ranked higher.
3. With tied points and wins, player with higher number of SOS (sum of opponents' score) is ranked higher.
4. With tied points, wins, and SOS, the players are ranked equal.
< Round to choose regional representatives >
• For players who win their way through the preliminaries, a two-round tournament in the region in which they won their way through the preliminary will be held.
• The pairings will be decided by the office by drawing lots.
• In the Main Class, eight players will pass through the preliminaries (Asia & Oceania 4, Europe & Africa 2, North, Central & South America 2), and in each of the Ranked Classes four players (Asia & Oceania 2, Europe & Africa 1, North, Central & South America 1) will qualify.
< Final Rounds >
• In the Final Rounds, single eliminations are played until a champion is determined. The pairings will be decided by the office by drawing lots.
• In the All Classes, all rounds are rounds with mixed groups.
On the tournament day, games will be played within the specified time at the time agreed to by both players and will be conducted in the specified room.
